Students on exchange programmes normally stay at Humboldt-Universität for one or two semesters without aspiring a Humboldt degree. During this time most of them are grant-funded. A scholarship or a nomination is previous condition to programme studies.

Those international students who wish to study 1-2 semesters without being on an exchange programme are required to make a formal application for a place on a course like the degree seeking applicants (see below).

On the basis of their educational documentation, international applicants (except those on an exchange programme) may seek advice on the opportunities of studies at Humboldt-Universität, on access to studies, the admission requirements and on the application procedure by arranging an appointment with an adviser at the International Office:
