Online Application for Studies Within the Framework of ERASMUS

Dear student,

You have been nominated by your home university for a place at Humboldt-Universität on the ERASMUS exchange programme. Congratulations! We very much look forward to welcoming you to our university.

To be able to register you correctly, we would ask you to carefully read the information and follow the instructions below:

 

Application Deadlines

(application period April 1st - May 30th)

  • Winter Semester: May 31th
  • Summer Semester: November 30th
    (application period October 1st - November 30th)
 

Special Regulations: Medical students must apply directly to CHIC (Charité International Cooperation) and do   n o t   have to apply using the online registraton system!

 

Online applications for studies at Humboldt-Universität will be processed and nominations as well as Confirmation Letters sent out as follows:

  • for the Winter Semester: May 16th to July 31st  (for Visa: 20.06.)
  • for the Summer Semester: December 16th to January 31st  (for Visa: 20.12.)

 

Please note that applications for the Summer Semester will  n o t  be processed before December 15th, while applications for the Winter Semester will n o t  be processed before April 15th.
We regret that enquiries before the given dates cannot be answered.

 
Language Requirements
  • It is absolutely vital to have a good command of the German language if studies at Humboldt are to be successful. The Humboldt Language Centre offers an online placement test ( C-Test), which you are asked take before applying online.
  • A minimum of 35 to 50 points (!) is required as a rule to be admitted to study at Humboldt, though the requirements of the faculties vary.
    Please, see the Merkblatt Sprachniveau for further information on the command of German required for ERASMUS studies at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin.
  • As an alternative to the C-Test, proof may be submitted that one of the following language examinations has been passed:
    • the Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung or the Kleine or the Große Deutsche Sprachdiplom, or
    • the DSH (Deutsche Sprachprüfung zum Hochschulzugang), or
    • the TestDaF

 

How to apply online for the ERASMUS programme: A step-by-step guide
  1. Register online at https://www.uni-exchange.eu.
  2. Subsequently, the applicant will receive an e-mail with a link to the online registration system.
  3. Click on this link to log into the online registration system.
  4. Enter personal details (change of password, surname, first name, mail address etc.).
  5. Enter name of home university, course of studies and current semester or term.
  6. Choose the course of studies you would like to enroll in at Humboldt. Only subject combinations will be shown, which the home university and Humboldt-Universität have agreed upon.
  7. While registering online applicants will be asked to enter their C-Test (Deutsch-Einstufungstest) result.
  8. Once all required details have been entered, the electronic application form can be sent within the online application system.
    Your application will be sent electronically to Humboldt-Universität. You cannot and do not need to print it out!
  9. The application will then be checked and the applicant will receive the nomination by e-mail after about two or three weeks.
  10. The nomination (confirming the chosen course of studies by Humboldt) needs to be signed by the home university’s Erasmus co-ordinator and by the applicant. Besides, the official university seal is indispensable! Send the nomination by post to the following address:

If the nomination - signed and sealed - is not sent back to Humboldt-Universität, the ERASMUS application cannot be processed. In this case the Confirmation of Admission to study at Humboldt will not be granted!!
