The HU Docs meet at the International Club "Orbis Humboldtianus" to hold their regulars' table (Doktorandenabende).

The Berlin Debating Union (BDU)
The Berlin Debating Union e.V. is the debating club of the universities in Berlin.
Meetings take place every Tuesday at 18:00 at the Orbis.
The three major objectives are:
- Discussions on socio-political subjects
- Improving communication skills of participants
- International exchange of opinions and views
After the motto of the evening has been decided on, fifteen minutes are allowed for preparation. The structure of the discussion group is based on "four against four". The respective positions are drawn before the game starts.
The debates are open to everybody interested in current events. Spectators are welcome as well.

International initiatives and events
The Orbis is open also to international initiatives at the various faculties. Its rooms may be used for seminars and social events. For information contact Ms Ulrike Spangenberg at the International Office.
