4.4.1 Student halls of residence

In Berlin, student halls of residence or dormitories are run mainly by the Studierendenwerk, the student welfare organisation, rather than by the university. Halls of residence (Wohnheime) are located in various parts of the city and vary in standards and prices from € 300 to € 550 per month. You can find more information online.

Once you have paid the semester fees, you can directly apply with your admission/matriculation certificate and your ID/passport in the Wohnheim Online Portal.

You can also apply for the (limited) accommodations of Humboldt-Universität (► 4.4.2). If available, there is housing in the newly built "student village Adlershof" on the campus of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and, if necessary, in further student halls of residence.

International resident assistant programme
On behalf of the student welfare organisation, the student resident assistants (Wohnheimtutoren/innen) will help you deal with any difficulties which may arise while living in the residence halls.
