8.2.6 The Protestant Student Association (ESG)
Under the umbrella of the welfare organisation of the Protestant Church (Diakonisches Werk) and linked to the Protestant Student Association (ESG), the Studienbegleitprogramm (STUBE) offers a counselling service and support in financial crisis situations.
In the event of a financial crisis situation (e.g. reduced income from part-time job in examination periods), it is possible to apply once only for financial support from an emergency fund. For applications made on more than one occasion proof of social commitment or commitment to overseas development is required. Details of the kind of commitment expected may be obtained from the desk officer administering the emergency fund or from the STUBE support organisation. Applications may be made only by students from developing countries.
