Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM)

The Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM) prepares the scientific basis and empirical data for discussions on integration issues. It has, among other things, carried out studies on voluntary work with refugees as well as on discrimination in Germany. Within the framework of the Research Intervention Cluster “Changing Solidarity“ („Solidarität im Wandel“), practical questions regarding flight and a culture of welcome are tackled in 14 sub-projects. In September 2016, BIM organised the KOSMOS Summer University “Investigating Logistics. Migration, Lifestyles, and the Common(s)”.
