6.2.2 Seminars | Seminare

In seminars, students and lecturers jointly elaborate on subject matter to be acquired. We distinguish between proseminars (Proseminare), principal seminars (Hauptseminare), Master's seminars (Masterseminare) and advanced seminars (Oberseminare).

During the seminars, students are expected to acquire academic knowledge and the methodology of academic work through with selected topics. In many subject areas, students give presentations in seminars, which are subsequently discussed.

More detailed descriptions of university teaching formats, as well as their categorisation as basic or advanced study sections are to be found in AGNES and in the annotated lecture catalogue (6.1.1).
