Application Process
Each semester the partner institutions of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin publish a call for applications. If you are interested in a study mobility at one of the partner institutions of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, please contact your departmental coordinator first about the application process.
The following documents have to be handed in to apply for a study mobility at one of the partner institutions of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin
- Application Form
- CV in Europass Format
- Letter of Motivation 1 – 2 pages/ specify relevance of studies at the partner institution
- Copy of Passport
- Transcript of Records with grade point average (GPA)
- Language Certificate
- Copy of Bachelor Degree (for Master Students), or Master Degree (for PhD Students)
- Proof of Enrolment at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin for the current study cycle
- Learning Agreement or Traineeship Agreement, first draft
- PhD students additionally attach their PhD work plan, as well as a recommendation letter from their PhD supervisor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, and - if applicable - a letter of support of their envisaged supervisor at the partner institution to their application
All applications are evaluated based on the following criteria
- Academic achievements/scientific background of the applicant (CV, study progress and results, research results, publications)
- Motivation for the study stay abroad
- Language proficiency
- Quality of learning agreement: does the application match the course offer at the partner institution?
- If thesis work is planned: relevance of proposed thesis topic to the research fields listed in the call for applications, relevance to field of study, methodology
