IES Abroad Student Assistantship Program

RISE Germany is a summer internship program for undergraduate students from the United States, Canada and the UK in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, earth sciences and engineering. RISE Germany offers unique opportunities for Bachelor students to work with research groups at universities and top research institutions across Germany for a period of 3 months during the summer. RISE Germany interns are matched with doctoral students whom they assist and who serve as their mentors. The working language will be English. All scholarship holders receive stipends from the DAAD to help cover living expenses, while partner universities & research institutes provide housing assistance.

The IES Abroad Student Assistantship Program facilitates one-year long student assistantship positions in the U.S. for highly qualified students from the Humboldt Universität zu Berlin. The student assistants are placed at approximately 30 IES Abroad consortium members schools. Placements are mostly at small, liberal arts colleges. Students work as Foreign Language Resident Assistants, Language Department Assistants, or Teaching Assistants, thereby mutually benefiting American and German students as well as the participating U.S. and German institutions.
