Online workshop: Climate education at Circle U. universities

How can climate education at universities be improved? Join Circle U.’s virtual workshop on 27 June and, together with lecturers and students from across Europe, develop ideas for sustainable curricula!

You are a student or lecturer at one of the Circle U. universities* and interested in climate and sustainability topics? You would like to see more of these themes integrated into your curricula and start, join or support student-led initiatives and interdisciplinary projects? You already have ideas on how to educate more people on climate change and mitigation actions or would like to develop ideas with fellow students and teachers across Europe? Then our virtual ideation workshop on 27 June, 14.00 – 18.00 CET, is for you!

Did you know that King’s College London has its own Climate Action Network, Universität Wien has a Sustainability Coordinator and Humboldt-Universität’s student-led Sustainability Office offers workshops and lectures on climate and sustainability topics? There are even more initiatives and opportunities in our alliance! We will use this workshop to present existing networks and initiatives as well as possibilities for learning and experiencing, and discuss ways of joining forces and brainstorm together.

In the workshop, you will have the opportunity to identify gaps in the current study programmes and exchange ideas with lecturers, students and like-minded people. Our goal: to develop visions of how climate change and sustainability topics can be (better) integrated into our respective universities’ curricula. Moreover, together with our partners from Grün Berlin we would like to invite and inspire you to generate suggestions for new teaching and learning formats and initiatives within the Circle U. alliance.

In the end, your suggestions will feed into the development of the Climate Hub’s profile as well as the realization of new teaching and learning offers within Circle U.
