Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin condemns Russia’s attack on Ukraine and is focusing on supporting Ukrainian students and academics in this situation. “Our thoughts are with our colleagues, fellow students and their families,” says Prof. Dr Peter Frensch, acting president of the university.

Support for Ukrainian students and researchers

While the university is working on setting up an emergency fund for students, the International Department advises on residence issues and social concerns. You may also get in touch with any of the student-led welcome initiatives at HU. These volunteers offer support for refugees at Humboldt, including legal advice, mentoring programmes, language cafés and more.

Humboldt-Universität would like to enable Ukrainian academics and students to continue their studies and research projects. Further measures are in preparation for this. We will keep you informed about current aid and funding programmes on this page and on social media.
