Ausschreibung: Förderung Workshops und Tagungen (Frist: 30.11.2022)

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin enables students and early career researchers (PhD students and Post-Docs) to organize workshops, conferences and other formats of international cooperation in research in the period of January 2023 to November 2023. The alliance consists of the following members: Aarhus University (Denmark), University of Pisa (Italy), Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin (Germany), King’s College London (United Kingdom), Universität Wien, (Austria), Université Paris Cité (France), University of Belgrade (Serbia), University of Louvain (Belgium) and University of Oslo (Norway).

The call is open for all disciplines and all partner universities. For the application to be considered, the project must be compatible with one of the three core topics of Circle U.: democracy, global health or climate change. The project has to include academic support from at least one of the partner universities and from a professor at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin. Applications must clearly state how the chosen partners contribute to the project as well as the alliance.

Because of the dynamic situation during the pandemic situation and in case travel restrictions apply, the event can be organized digitally or in hybrid form. For an in situ organization the event has to take place in Berlin. HU will finance mobility costs (travel and accomodation according to the German Travel Expenses Act), catering and speaker fees to a maximum of 5.000 Euros. Please note that the regulations of Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin regarding travel, accomodation and catering apply. The Circle U. team can lend administrative support (mainly regarding invoices and costs for traveling), but it is expected of applicants to organize the event independently.

Please submit a short abstract of the project (one page max.) with a detailled budget to Dr. Klaus Wiehl (klaus.wiehl@hu-berlin.de) until November 30 2022. Applications will be evaluated by a Circle U. selection committee.
