4.4.1 Student halls of residence

In Berlin, student halls of residence or dormitories are run mainly by the Studierendenwerk, the student welfare organisation, rather than by the university. Halls of residence (Wohnheime) are located in various parts of the city and vary in standards and prices from € 150 to € 400 per month. You can find more information online.

Once you have paid the semester fees, you can directly apply with your semester enrolment slip and your ID/passport in the Online Portal.

You can also apply for the (limited) accommodations of the Humboldt-Universität (► 4.4.2). If available, there is housing in the newly built "Student Village Adlershof" on the campus of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences and, if necessary, in further student halls of residence.

International resident assistant programme
On behalf of the Studierendenwerk, the resident assistants will help you deal with any difficulties which may arise whilst living in the residence halls.

Help is also available through the Info-Points of the Studierendenwerk:
