6.4.6 The International Office | Internationales Büro

Humboldt International Office is the point of contact for all international students on courses at Humboldt-Universität, including those studying as part of an exchange programme, i.e.:

  • exchange students studying in accordance with inter-university agreements,
  • students on exchange schemes of EU programmes, e.g. ERASMUS+, ERASMUS MUNDUS Action 2,
  • scholarship holders of DAAD, Fulbright, KAAD, IPS, etc.,
  • students completing a compulsory semester abroad in a German speaking country,
  • doctoral students temporarily undertaking research at Humboldt-Universität within a programme, without intending to take a degree at the Humboldt-Universität.

The International Office should be approached for counselling in matters of financial support and scholarships. Advice is also available concerning the applications for and extension of residence permits.

At the beginning of every semester, the International Office organises an introductory meeting which is designed to make the start of studies easier for international students. We equally recommend participation in orientation sessions held at university faculties, departments and institutes, where specific questions on course programmes will be answered by the academic counselling staff (► 6.4.1).
