9.11 Cinemas, theatres and opera houses in Berlin

Berlin is well-known for its wide cultural diversity. Theatres, opera houses and cinemas are particularly popular among students. What is on and where is advertised in magazines such as Zitty, Tip and the English language magazine Exberliner.

Going to the cinema is cheaper on certain weekdays, which are known as cinema days (Kinotage). Cinema tickets on those days cost only between € 4 and € 7, and € 8 to € 11 on other days. Often, students can also buy tickets at a reduced price if they present their student ID.
