On 3 July, Humboldt-Universität, Freie Universität, Technische Universität, and Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin, which together form the Berlin University Alliance (BUA), organized the fourth annual reception for students and researchers from Brazil and BUA researchers collaborating with Brazilian partner institutions.

About 100 guests attended the networking reception at the Brazilian Embassy, taking advantage of the opportunity to connect and consult at the information booths of the Berlin Clusters of Excellence, the German Research Foundation, and the Apoena network. The event was opened by the Minister-Counsellor of the Brazilian Embassy, Paulo Gustavo Iansen de Sant'Ana. The Executive Secretary of the Board at Charité, Dr. Magnus Rüde, gave a welcome address on behalf of the BUA.

Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Berlin and Charité - Universitätsmedizin Berlin maintain close relations with partner institutions in Brazil and would like to increase the visibility of these joint collaborations and create networking opportunities for the academic community based in Berlin. All three universities are supporters of the German House of Science and Innovation (DWIH) São Paulo: The FU has maintained a liaison office in Brazil since 2010, which is located at the DWIH, the TU has been associated with the DWIH as an associate supporter since 2018, and the HU since 2022.
