For the Long Night of Science, the Humboldt Lab will connect live to research projects around the world: At the "Call a Scientist" station, visitors can pick up the phone themselves to speak with researchers. In collaboration with the University of São Paulo (USP) – a partner university of Humboldt-Universität – the Humboldt Lab will connect live with researcher Daniel Falcone in Brazil. In his introduction, visitors will learn about the changes in urban and rural areas in the Amazon region. The "Bushfire Research Centre of Excellence" at the Australian National University (ANU) – another Humboldt-Universität partner uiniversity – is conducting intensive research on methods for early detection and combating of bushfires. Nicolás Younes will report live from Australia on how satellite images, among other tools, are used for this purpose.
