The new collaborative research and teaching project "Investigating Imperial Connections: British and German Empires, Ethnography, and Art" brings together scholars and students from Humboldt and Princeton University.

It is supported by the International Department and, at HU, coordinated by Joanna Vickery-Barkow and Professor Gesa Stedman from the Centre for British Studies. At Princeton, the coordination is led by Professor Anna Arabindan-Kesson who works in the Departments of Art and Archaeology as well as African American Studies. This autumn, Vickery-Barkow will guest lecture in Princeton and Arabindan-Kesson will visit Berlin, both discussing their research on art and empire’s intersections.
