Endangered Project Europe: On Wishful Thinking and Economic Policy Ambition

The International Department cordially invites you to the festive closing event of this year's CENTRAL Leadership Program. The programme annually brings together young talents from Central and Eastern Europe with representatives from academia, politics and civil society.
The aim is to discuss societal and foreign policy challenges in Central Europe across generations, and seeking solutions together.
Programme
- 4:00pm – Welcome. Keynote by Thomas Urban, longtime correspondent for Süddeutsche Zeitung in Eastern Europe: "Endangered Project Europe. On wishful thinking and economic policy ambitions of German foreign policy"
- 4:45pm – Panel discussion "German foreign policy under pressure: Perspectives and outlook" with Prof. Dr. Gwendolyn Sasse, Einstein Professor at HU and Director of the Centre for East European and International Studies (ZOiS), and Thomas Urban, journalist and non-fiction author
Live translation equipment from German to English will be available upon request. Afterwards, we warmly invite you to a reception in front of the Senate Hall.
