PhD Programs

Information for PhD applicants

If you are interested in working on a Ph.D. at Humboldt-Universität, your first task is to find an academic mentor. Please get in touch with scholars and scientists who work in the academic area that you are interested in. You can use the webpages of the Institutes and publication lists for your search. If you have applied successfully for a structured Ph.D. program (e.g. an international doctoral school), then this step is taken care of, because you will be working with a group of professors instead.

If you are interested in how to get a Ph.D. in German in general, please also have a look at the website of the DAAD.

The international doctoral students can use all services at "Orbis International Student Club", such as the cultural programmes and the language exchange.
